The University of Szeged has been ranked among the world’s leading higher education institutions in five academic subjects in the ShanghaiRanking 2026 Global Ranking of Academic Subjects. Education is one of the fields in which the university achieved an outstanding result.
In the ranking published on 15 September 2026, the University of Szeged was placed in the 301 to 400 range worldwide in Education. It achieved second place among Hungarian higher education institutions in this field.
The university was also included in the international rankings for Human Biological Sciences, Clinical Medicine, Dentistry and Oral Sciences, and Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. In Human Biological Sciences, Clinical Medicine, and Dentistry and Oral Sciences, the University of Szeged ranked among the world’s top 300 institutions.
The ShanghaiRanking evaluates approximately 2,000 higher education institutions from nearly 100 countries across 57 academic subjects. Its indicators include the quality and impact of research, citation rates, publications in leading academic journals, and international research collaboration.
The university’s strong position in Education reflects the quality and international visibility of the research conducted at the University of Szeged.
